– President Obama | TPMDC
I keep asking myself why the Republicans would have agreed to let Obama smack down their nonsense for 90 minutes on live television. And I keep coming to the same conclusion. They’ve started to believe their own bullshit. These people weren’t at all prepared for Obama to...

I just want to take a minute out of my day today to say that Mr. Alan Sereboff is the nicest guy on the planet. I met him in person because he came to my work to pick me up and give me a ride to a shop he recommended when our car was broken. He had never met me before in his life and was still willing to take time out of his day to help me out of a...

My initial reaction to seeing the first tweet was ‘wow, Salinger was still alive?’ then, ‘frak I need to download Catcher in the Rye!’. The convergence of the past and the future present in one thought, of course, made me think: with the birth of the iPad came the symbolic death of the page.

The iPad
lialia:
So earlier today I signed on Tumblr to do something fresh like like post a picture of a maxi pad and be like, “yo I already got my iPad, son!” until I realized that of course, the entire Internet had already beat me to it.
In any case, GC brought a tablet PC home not that long ago and I’ve been playing around on it ever since. From what I can tell, this computer does everything and more...

The Apple Tablet Interface Must Be Like This -... →
This is the best article I’ve read all day - and certainly the best I’ve read on the Apple Tablet. The sooner we destroy the current desktop environment of computing the better - it’s inefficient and unintuitive.
If you are talking hardware, you can speculate about many different features. But when it comes to the fabled Apple Tablet, there are basically three user interface...

– Rock Band Network Is Creating An Exciting New Industry In Music Gaming
Woah. Awesome.

I’ve been very intrigued as to how this affects both the unsigned music scene, and the indie-not-quite-mainstream scene. There’s nowhere to really break new artists nowadays, other...
iPhone And Android Now Account For 81 Percent Of... →
Key quote:
Increasingly this looks like a two-horse race between iPhone and Android, and all the other mobile phones don’t matter. No wonder Google only cares about targeting mobile ads to those two platforms.

Google and Palm built it, and they did not come.

Responding to the Haiti Earthquake
squashed:
There aren’t a lot of natural disasters worse than the earthquake that just struck Haiti. The earthquake is such a disaster that the people who are normally in charge of telling you what a disaster it is are mostly dead or missing.
Earlier, I posted a list of charities that are set up to quickly get relief to those who need it. All of these charities are legitimate and regardless of...

Brief Apple thoughts
I don’t think we’re going to hear about a CDMA iPhone for Verizon this year. Next year, maybe even in January, but not this year. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love a Verizon iPhone, but I just don’t see it happening until 2011.
I think the talks that Apple and Verizon were having were for an exclusive contract with the iSlate or whatever Apple’s tablet will end up...

So this just happened.
The door bell rings, I open it while finishing a phone call and having stuff to do.
Her: Hello sir. You look busy.
Me, noticing her religious pamphlets, just like the other three this week: No thank you.
Her: You're not busy?
Me: I'm not interested.
Her: You don't even know what I'm here about.
Me: Yes I do. Your group has been here three times in the past week. I'm not interested.
Her: Could I have a moment of your time? Jesus-
Me: I was polite before, I won't be now. I'm not going to be preached to in my own home. Get the fuck off my porch.
I close the door.
Her: God loves you!
Her friend: We'll pray for him.
