Wow… Xplay absolutely RAPED Metroid: Other M. All the points they make are valid though, and have swayed me from playing this title. I don’t love Metroid as a series because of the rich depth of story. Pair that with Team ninja’s obviously typical Japanese male game developer understanding of women in general and you’ve successfully turned me off a game I spent the last year being excited for.

Goddammit. Being a big Metroid fan, I was really excited about this game from the moment I heard about it. I was hoping that it would hold up to the Prime series and the pinnacle Super Metroid. Unfortunately, it sounds like not only does it not hold up, but that it’s an utter embarrassment.
This is why we can’t have nice things.
