I couldn’t have said it better myself
Florida GOP Chairman Jim Greer released a statement this week accusing Obama of using taxpayer money to “indoctrinate” children.
“As the father of four children, I am absolutely appalled that taxpayer dollars are being used to spread President Obama’s socialist ideology,” Greer said.
“The idea that school children across our nation will be forced to watch the president justify his plans … is not only infuriating, but goes against beliefs of the majority of Americans, while bypassing American parents through an invasive abuse of power.”
- We’re gonna need you to learn the definition of socialism before you use it again.
- Railing against socialism using the free public education system as your broadcast platform is monumentally stupid. Like “wear a helmet” stupid.
- The vast, vast majority of Americans are in favor of massive socializing of heath-care (79-82% depending on the poll) through a government sponsored public option.
- You obviously don’t even know (or haven’t bothered familiarizing yourself with) what The President is talking about, just proving that your issue is with the man, not the message.
- You’re making the country dumber by using these tactics as if they’re actual intellectual debate. To quote Jon Stewart, you’re quite literally “hurting America.”
- Shut the fuck up. Seriously, shut the fuck up, I’m tired of hearing it. When you’re planning on making an actual point, I’ll listen. If you’re still planning on beating your chest and shouting a lot about things that are at best inconsequential, and at worst flat out inventions of your own imagination, I’ll continue to ignore you like the petulant children you’ve become.
- You may be “solidifying your base” through use of fear, lies, religious (read: Christian) lip service, and hyperbole, but you’re also making sure that independent voters like myself (people who used to vote republican) are so turned off by your party, leaders, tactics, and ideas, that the last thing in the world we would want to do is validate the bullshit, lies, and dangerous precedent of “party politics over progress” that you’ve established. I can’t think of a single Republican candidate right now that I would feel comfortable supporting except Meghan McCain - and she’s not running for anything yet.
- I forget what 8 was for.
