Cispa cybersecurity bill opposed by Obama administration
Good.
In case you’re unaware, CISPA is a bill that allows any private company (including ISPs like Time-Warner and Comcast, and social media companies like twitter and facebook) to share any and all of your information (public or private) with any government organization, for nearly any reason whatsoever. It treats any attempts to protect your privacy or information as “suspect behavior.” Even better, it protects those companies from any liability if they break encryption, passwords, etc to distribute your information. Best of all, there’s no judicial oversight, and the companies in question don’t even need a government agency to ask them for this information, they’d be able to monitor, collect, and distribute any and all of this information of their own accord.
CISPA essentially means that if it’s on or accessed by a computer, it’s free game.
